Heavy Resistance and Mini Bands

Heavy resistance bands and mini bands are elastic, flexible bands used for strength training exercises or stretching. They are something that I use in my warm-ups most days I train, and in all of the personal training sessions I deliver to clients and patients.

They are typically made of rubber but can also be made of latex or Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE). Resistance bands come in a variety of sizes and resistance levels and can be used to perform a variety of exercises that target different muscle groups.

Because they are lightweight and portable, resistance bands are frequently used as an alternative to free weights or machines for various exercises. They can be used to perform exercises that involve pulling, pushing or rotating movements, and they are frequently used to perform exercises that target upper and lower body muscles.

Resistance bands can be used to perform bicep curls, tricep extensions, shoulder presses, chest presses, squats, lunges, and other exercises. They are also frequently used for injury rehabilitation because they provide a low-impact form of resistance training that can help to improve muscle strength and flexibility.

Here are a couple of the bands that I use and recommend to my osteopathy patients and personal training and accountability coaching clients.

These bands are excellent for stretching tight hip flexors and muscles of the shoulder complex, as well as performing strengthening exercises for the shoulder.

Mini Bands

Mini bands are incredibly useful to strengthen weak stabilising muscles in the hip and shoulder complex.
